This develops fine lines on their body which is known as stretch marks. Stretch marks is also seen when one is pregnant or trying to gain muscles. Sometimes hormonal changes also leads to stretch marks. These stretch marks will form when the connective tissue stretched beyond its flexibility due to contraction or expansion of the skin. Then they results in fine scars on the top layer of the skin and at last seen like a stretch marks.
Generally stretch marks will form on the middle layer of the skin called dermis and they appear like pink, red or purple marks then over time they fade to thin silvery white or gray color.
This finally leads as stretch marks and they are in pink, purple or red marks on the skin and after sometimes, it gets fade to thin silvery white or gray color. The affected areas are soft to the touch and the lines can appear in any pars of the body but they generally appear in places where larger amounts of fat are stored like abdomen, breasts, upper arms, underarms, back, thighs, hips and buttocks.
The following essential oils have properties that can help heal stretch marks: lavender, neroli, patchouli, mandarin, rose geranium, vetiver, jasmine and helichrysum. Each has regenerative effects that slow down aging of the skin, improve elasticity and moisturize the skin to heal damaged skin cells.
1. Neroli Essential Oil:
Though it was named after the 17th century Italian Countess of Nerola, who was fond of it and used it to perfume her gloves, neroli essential oil originated from orange blossom trees in Morocco and Tunisia. Neroli essential oil is one of the best essential oils for stretch marks and it assists in regeneration of scarred tissue. Due to its being a cicatrisant, neroli essential oil has powerful anti scarring properties that will help prevent and fade stretch marks.
2. Grapefruit Essential Oil:
Grapefruit is well known for its many health benefits. It eliminates toxins from the body and can be used effectively to reduce cellulite and stop its further accumulation. Mix a few drops with some vegetable oil and massage the affaceted areas every morning and evening.
3. Frankincense Essential Oil:
Extracted from frankincense resin, frankincense essential oil is a sacred essential oil.. It will therefore work wonders in healing stretch marks Frankincense essential oil helps prevent and heal tissue damage thereby gradually fading and erasing ugly scars and stretch marks.
Mix 10 drops of frankincense essential oil and 5 drops of geranium essential oil in 3 to 6 tbsps of wheat germ oil in a 2 ounce amber glass dropper bottle. Apply about 5 drops on your affected area each night before bed.
4. Castor Oil:
castor oil is also worth a try when you want to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. All you should do is to apply the oil and massage gently in a circular motion. Once you have finished massaging the different areas, be sure to use a clean cloth to wrap the affected skin. Then, with the use of a heating pad, apply heat on the spot for at least 30 minutes.
